Much input was made and Sam sent the notes of what issues were raised in connection to Mental Health and Mental Illness. World Mental Health Day - Friday, 10th OctoberCivic CentreThere will be stalls and information at the Civic Centre concourse throughout the day. Walk for Mental HealthSouthampton City Council are making this arrangement. The Walk for Mental Health event will be meeting on Southampton Common. Times and further details TBC, and updates will appear on this website as we receive them. Sadly, we have received news that this event will not be occurring after all. The organisers of last year's event cannot repeat the arrangements this year, and the seem to be no other staff available to take over the task. Fear not, though! We still have ... Open House Drop-in at Central Baptist ChurchAt 12 noon, we shall be having an Open House Drop-in at Central Baptist Church, Devonshire Road. This is a Service user oriented event hosted by Creative Options. Lunch will be available from 12 noon: jacket potatoes with fillings and dessert for £2.00 will be provided by Tasty Options Bakin’ Company. At 1 p.m., we shall have a debate on mental health led by Sam Gould, a Community Development Worker from Healthwatch. All are most welcome to attend. Afternoon Tea at Sembal HouseAt 2.30 p.m., Afternoon Tea will be hosted by Tasty Options Bakin’ Company at Sembal House, Handel Terrace. This is just 300 metres walk from Central Baptist Church. Home-made cakes and refreshments will be provided, and we shall have the Recovery Choir with us. Various speakers will give accounts of the different aspects of mental health, including carers and people with lived experiences. All are welcome to attend, whether it be service users, relatives, carers, professionals or friends. Free of charge with donations to Mental Health. 


A couple of 'management' notices We are taking a summer break longer than originally planned. From 6th August until 3rd September inclusive, we will be taking that summer break, and will reconvene on Wednesday 10th September at 11:00. On that day, Wednesday 10th September at 12:00, we shall have our Annual General Meeting.
